Have the launcher check for updates whenever it's foregrounded.
Keywords: Launcher, UI Polish, Mac client
Discussion: Right now, if I leave the launcher up, put the computer to sleep, and then try to launch the game, it either fails silently or, if there's been an update, it launches the incompatible client, which fails with two modal dialogs that cascade on top of each other: the 'incompatible build' dialog and the 'new build is available' dialog.
Right now, the Launcher only checks for updates when it's launched. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Suggestion: Make it possible to right-click a system that's already on an autopilot route and make it a waypoint in place, instead of having the UI tack it on to the end.
Keyword: UI
Note: This would be a lovely compliment to the market's helpful highlighting in yellow of any purchasable items on your autopilot route. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Since double-clicking sets the direction of your ship, have double-clicking on an object in your overview (or even in space!) align your ship to that object. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

If it's on grid. Which is why I specified 'align', not 'approach.' ;-) Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Tweak colors and hues as necessary to compensate for common forms of color blindness, and maybe have different symbols as well. Yellow question mark, blue circle (although those are currently yellow...), red x, green check mark. Then you don't have a usability issue for, e.g., the large number of men with red-green color blindness. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Jur Tissant wrote:More blink filters for the wallet, please. For example, I'd like it to be able to blink when someone buys from or sells to my order, but NOT whenever I just update the order by a few ISK. Other options (blink on balance change, for example) are a nuisance when you pay POCO taxes or get bounties etc.
It just occurred to me that I can program custom buzzes and tones for my phone in response to particular events, so how cool would it be if the UI took advantage of the default grey icons to allow not just on/off filters, but different kinds of blinks or even notification tones? Maybe nothing for bounty payments, but a quick "sparkle" animation for a market sale, or a dimming for a major expense, etc. You could even use color that way: blue for deposits, red for withdrawals, but (say) only from the corp wallet.

With the Advanced Camera Menu enabled, there is an undocumented ability to set the depth of field by holding both mouse buttons and moving the mouse. This binding should be configurable under Shortcuts (hint: Macs don't do the "hold both buttons" gesture easily with their included mice or trackpads).

Thinking about it, is it a little thing to actually have the Advanced Camera Menu provide a menu, or some sort of visible, documented set of options?
